EEO EMPLOYEE SUMMARY
ODU RESEARCH FOUNDATION

SYNOPSIS OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION RESULTS:
Each year we review the composition of our workforce and highlight the affirmative action goals of the Foundation. Your assistance as hiring supervisors is requested to help the Research Foundation meet our goals.

We have a total of 209 Regular employees which make up 53% of our workforce. They fall into 6 occupational groups: Officials and Managers, Administrative, Scientific and Engineering professionals, Technical and Clerical. Based on our published Affirmative Action Goals for 2007 we find that:

An increase in minority representation is needed in the Officials and Managers as well as the Administrative and Engineering categories.

An increase in minority as well as male representation within the Clerical job
Category is needed.

An increase female representation is needed for the Science and Engineering groups

While we do not have formal Affirmative Action goals established for GRA's and Casual employees, after reviewing the data we find that:

An increase in minority representation is needed among GRA's, focusing on the Black male/female demographic as well as the Hispanic male/female demographic.

An increase in minority representation is needed among Casuals, with an emphasis on the Hispanic male / female employment groups.

An increase in minority representation is need among Hourly Temporary employees concentrating on Black and Hispanic males and Hispanic Females

GRAPH ILLUSTRATIONS OF FINDINGS:
The types of employees include Regular employees, Graduate Research Assistants (GRA's) and Casual and Temporary employees.

Regular employees for all 6 occupational groups are mostly white. This professional group is predominantly male. The largest minority representation can also be found in the professional category. The technical and clerical fields are primarily comprised of women. An increase in minority representation is needed in clerical field.
